Night at the Museum

Tickets on sale the 28 June from 6:00 - 8:00pm. Exciting programme lined up which is suitable for the entire family. Live snake show, fun and interactive science show, Victorian Show and Tell in the History hall, San Hunter Display (stone tools, pottery, iron) with the Museum archaeologists, Library book display, Insect pinning with our scientific staff and more! Food will be on sale, as well as face painting, popcorn and a coffee! Tickets may be purchased from Webtickets or from the customer service desk at any Pick ‘n Pay store.

Department of Human Sciences

We are open this long weekend!

Father's day is the Sunday, bring dad and the whole family to the Museum for a visit. We are open all weekend including Monday from 9:00 - 4:00 pm. Entrance fees are R 15 for adults and R 5 for children. Pensioners and toddlers are free. It's a great way to spend the day and there is always something new to see!

Department of Natural Science

The Department of Natural Science is one of two research departments within the museum, housing specimens dating back to 1879...

Holiday Programme

"Year of the Fly" is also an opportunity for fly specialists to showcase their research work and new discoveries in the field and make these more widely known.

On the 20 October we will be opening a temporary exhibition called the "Shop of Horrors" in our History Gallery. It will be set up inside "Mrs Pepworth's Shop". It is about the strange and macabre history of the Victorians and the little known facts of the everyday life and beliefs during the 1800s. This temporary exhibition will be shown for just one month, so come see but only if you dare! And just in time for Halloween too!#didyouknow #kznmuseum
